Denver, Colorado— Justice Takes Flight, a 501c3 nonprofit providing resources and support for Missing Persons, is compelled to address a recent wave of allegations circulating online about our organization and leadership. We take these allegations seriously and are committed to transparency and setting the record straight.
In the past month, families have reported being contacted by some former team members of Justice Takes Flight for donation requests, along with allegations that Justice Takes Flight Leadership misappropriated donated funds for personal use and disparaged their loved ones who are Missing.
We unequivocally refute these allegations of misconduct, which are being spread privately and online. Our publicly available financial records demonstrate all donations have been utilized solely for humanitarian aid of Missing Persons and it is against our policy to ask for monetary support from those in our community in need of our aid. Justice Takes Flight was founded after experiencing first-hand the loss of a loved one, and for over 6 years Justice Takes Flight has collaborated with a community of mutual aid to improve support for families. To reaffirm our dedication to our mission and uphold the highest standards of transparency and integrity Justice Takes Flight is implementing the following measures:
We are enhancing our internal protocols with additional security measures to safeguard sensitive information, and we are exploring legal avenues to address breaches of privacy. We respectfully request that the privacy and dignity of families be upheld by refraining from using any contact information for solicitation or promotion. We encourage individuals to notify us promptly should there be any instances of privacy intrusion by third parties . We deeply regret the unfortunate circumstances surrounding these events and are prepared to address any concerns that may arise from these unfounded rumors.
